Ingenity Electric Launches ‘mCrate’ Drop-In: Turnkey Electric Propulsion System for Boat Builders

ORLANDO, FL (March 7, 2024) – Ingenity Electric, a Correct Craft brand, launches the mCrate (Marine Crate) Electric Propulsion System designed as a drop-in solution for boat builders with products in the ‘under 35ft’ range. The system is a GEN 3 design built upon what was learned from the Nautique GS22E and Ingenity EL Dayboat projects, both of which were award-winning designs.

With power ranging from 100kW up to 400kW, battery capacities from 63-189kWh, and state-of-the-art Thermal Management, these systems are scalable for many different applications. With the mCrate System, the boat builder doesn’t need to worry about designing and supporting a custom electric drivetrain and can focus on building their own boats.

The mCrate supports single or twin configurations, with sterndrive, Vdrive, or straight shaft final drives.  The user interface can be customized with the boat builders’ branding guidelines for additional customer engagement.

The end customer will enjoy a variety of charging options, including fast charging in as little as 1 hour both on and off the water. The Ingenity Connect app allows the owner of the boat to see a wide range of system data in real-time. Also, it facilitates remote support and OTA (other the air) software updates with product improvements.

“There have been many custom electric drives developed over the last few years, but the ‘drop-in’ design of our mCrate product is a much more accessible way for all kinds of boat builders to easily electrify their models without the risk of trying to develop something on their own,” said Capt. Todd Sims, Director of Business Development. “Although mCrate is designed as a standardized offering, our Engineering team can tweak certain system parameters to optimize performance for a particular installation and use case.”
