ELECTRIC PINK
Nothing to do with Barbie, for the past ten years they have been calling it “Pink October” where people around the world adopt the pink colour and display pink ribbons everwhere to raise awareness about the importance of prevention and routine screening for the early diagnosis of breast cancer. polyboatglabal.com has found a number of pink electric boats around the waterways of the world. Las Vegas, Huntington Beach, San Diego Bay, Hamilton Harbour (Bermuda), Spandau (Berlin) and Corsica. In England, Windermere Aquatic Quays Electric Boat Hire on the UK’s largest lake has been running an all pink, all electric boat that they rent out at a higher fee with proceeds going to cancer research. The boat itself is an 8-10 passenger Fantail 217 made by the Canadian Electric Boat Company. It is fitted with a hard top which carries the Breast Cancer Awareness pink ribbon. The very pink vessel, which holds up to ten people, will cost an extra £5 per hour to hire taking the total cost to £100 per hour. Windermere Aquatic Quays then match the extra £5, meaning each hour the boat is hired £10 is raised for Cancer Research UK We encourage owners of other pink-coloured electric boats to fund-raise for this good cause.
